Jennifer Bell, a Pelham Memorial High School junior who swims for the New Rochelle YMCA, won her fifth title this week at the YMCA Diving National Championship at the outdoor diving well of the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, easily topping all comers challenging her.

Bell earned the gold medal in the three-meter springboard competition with 433.45 points over 10 dives, tops in the field of 40 divers from around the country by more than 16 points.

With her latest national championship, Bell has automatically been qualified as a semifinalist in the USA National Diving National Championship - amateur diving’s Super Bowl - which will be held at the Georgia Tech McAuley Aquatic Center for a week in July. She has also qualified for next year’s Junior World Championship.

A 2017 Speedo/NISCA High School all-American diver and five-time New York State High School Diving Championship finalist, Bell will be going for two more national titles this weekend in the one-meter springboard event on Friday and 10-meter platform event on Sunday, representing New Rochelle.
